CONSULTANT TO ENTREPRENEUR.

After losing my consultancy job i decided to not do consultancy any more because as a consultant you build a company from the start and when they get established then there is no requirement of you and you have to start all over again with some new company.

I thought, if i can make others millionaires then why not i start my own company? So, i set up a trading company called M/S INTIRIOR SOLUTION PVT.LTD. It was not easy as i thought because getting a guarantor for getting Sales Tax or VAT no. was not easy and somehow i got it.
I had lot of contacts with furniture manufacturer & Importers of furniture but client needed to see the products before giving the order and since i had no showroom of my own so i used to take them to these importers showroom. There was no problem in getting the first order but next time onwards they used to directly get in touch with these importers and i used to lose my customers.

You require a big showroom to display the products plus you need staff and Godown and all these require huge investment in city like delhi and i did not have so much money.I also realised that i don't have the temperament of a business man because lot of patience is required in the business.
I managed to get few small orders and done business for one and a half year but then realised that giving consultancy to someone and doing business yourself is two different  things and you require different mind set and sensibilities for each work plus you require lot of money to even start a furniture business.

So,i decided to close my company and again started applying for full time job. After couple of months i got a job in M/S DEBONO FLEXICOM (I) PVT.LTD. as GENERAL MANAGER - Marketing(2007) with a salary package of 5 lakh/annum.They are manufacturer of Modular Furniture and they mostly supply in Government Departments.

  2. I very much agree on this with you, Anoop. Giving strategy is another thing than executing according to the strategy.
