While i was working at NITCO TILES and everything was going on well,i got an offer from their major competitor M/S MODERN TILES for the post of CHIEF MARKETING MANAGER and salary offered was also very good.So i told my present employer that i have got a very good offer from some other company and either you raise my salary or i have no other option then to resign.
My M.D showed his inability to give that much salary since it was higher then he was paying to his G.M.So i resigned and joined the new company but before leaving my present company my M.D called a meeting of all senior staff and applauded my work and said Mr Jha we are sad that you are leaving us but we can't afford you.
So i joined new company(1997-1998) as Chief Marketing Manager.Office of both the companies was in adjoining buildings at Asaf Ali Road,DELHI.But after working there for 8 months or so my new company decided to shift there office from present place to sultanpur farm house,near chhatarpur.There factory was also located there so it was convenient for the owners but i was living in Rohini and it was approximately 35 km from my house so it became quite difficult for me to travel so much and because of that i started having pain in my back.So,i started looking for a change.At that time my eldest brother told me that why you don't utilise your contacts in the market and do something on your own and start working as consultant.
He was doing INTERIOR DECORATION BUSINESS and one of leading importers and manufacturers of Wood &Plywood from where my brother used to buy his timber and wood were looking for a person who can give them big orders from builders and my brother told them about me and they asked him to to tell me to meet them.So i met them and told them that i am getting this much salary and can you give me this much? It was quite high from there expectations so they asked me to give them some time to think about it.
After a week they called me again and offered me half of my present salary plus commision on sales.
They gave the logic that if i get big orders from builders then commision will be much more then my present salary.I thought about the offer and since i was quite confident about getting orders from builders so i decided to take the risk and decided to join them as MARKETING CONSULTANT.
