As told in my last blog that i was invited by the owner of M/S UBITECH PVT.LTD.( Provides turn-key electrical solutions ) Mr.Pandey to meet him at his faridabad office.I went there reluctantly since i knew nothing about electricals.When i met and discussed about my marketing experience he immediately told me to join his company.I told him that how can i market something which i am myself not aware about?But he said that you don't worry about the technical aspects because first you take your time to learn the basics and our engineers will be at your disposal and whenever you need there services they will go with you. But again i told him that since i am living in delhi and my residence is 55km from this office which mean that i will have to drive approximately 150 km/day which is not possible.Again he told me that Mr. Jha there is no need to come office on daily basis since most of our electrical consultants are based in delhi and projects are also mostly in gurgaon or noida and you can go there directly from your home.So i told him that i will come only once a week to office and mostly on saturdays.He agreed and appointed me GENERAL MANAGER MARKETING of his company.They also provided me with new maruti Alto Car along with Laptop & mobile.
So i became the marketing head of a company in which most of the employees were engineers or they had technical background. I felt really strange and started to learn the basics but soon i realised that basically you require to follow a certain procedure to market any product.
First thing is presentation of your company and its product in an impressive way.So i took the first step in designing and printing the catalogue of products with technical specification and making the company's website more informative for the customers.
At that time market was really down and most of the private sector companies were struggling financially and since in our business most of the projects were not less then 10 crore so i advised my owners to move on to government sector since there was huge requirement of sub-stations in this sector and at least payment is safe in government sector.But since they had never done a govt.project before so Mr.Pandey was not in favour of this but his son Mr.Raaj Pandey ( M.D ) agreed with me and asked me to try for government orders.
