After getting appointed as Marketing Consultant to this company i met Mr.K.N.Pandey the owner of the company and asked him that you have appointed me your consultant even without hearing my terms & conditions and he said o.k tell me your conditions now and i will accept all of them.I got really surprised that how can a man who had met me for just 5 minutes have so much faith in my abilities?So,anyhow i laid down following conditions:
1.The name of the company must be changed.
( A 15 year old company which was biggest manufacturer of chairs in North India.)
2.You need a Company showroom in south delhi.
3.You will give me free hand in choosing my marketing team,marketing & pricing policy.
4.A catalogue of high quality displaying company products with technical details.
As promised he accepted all my conditions.Imagine the person agreed to change the name of the company which was running successfully and was in his name with approximately 300 staff working for him.He also started looking for a showroom in south delhi and shortlisted one of the showroom in chittranjan park and took me there and it was just opposite of showroom of a leading chairs brand and he paid the entire rent of one year in advance to the owner.
In the meanwhile i selected two boys as marketing executives and immediately on third day of their joining we managed to get one big order of 300 chairs.In the meanwhile he also appointed one designer for making the catalogue and shooting of different models of chairs got started.Myself and Mr.Pandey done a lot of research for the company's logo and we wondered around delhi and observed that most of the companies with multicoloured logo are successful so we decided to have a multicolored logo with INDIGO colour.I had also asked everyone to choose a good name for the company and we shortlisted five names but everyone liked the name GEEKEN suggested by company's Director Mr.Singh who was incharge of production and Administration because this name he arrived by adding first few words of Mr.Pandey's wife whose name was Geeta and initial of Mr.Pandey name is K.N so it became GEEKEN and it sounded like some multinational company so finally company became from PANDEY FURNITURE TO GEEKEN SEATING COLLECTION.
