As i have told you in my earlier blog that i got a good job in NITCO TILES and since i was in sales so i had to travel by bus to meet different clients at different places in the city. Those days there were no metro rail or low floor Air conditioned buses.Even mobiles were also not there but in it place there was a device called PAGER in which you get to receive the message and then you have to call back to the concerned person. It was very difficult to communicate and meet at least five to seven clients in a day and then i had to carry 3to 4 samples of cement tiles along with me so that client can choose and give order accordingly.
So i told my parents that i require a scooter for the job but as i told you those days salaries were quite low and scooter cost was Rs.16000/-and it was a big amount. My monthly salary was Rs.1200/- and by then he had taken Voluntary retirement from his government undertaking job while his seven years of service was still pending. He was transferred to Mizoram and since my elders brothers were employed in good job so everyone forced him to take this step.Whatever he got as retirement money he had invested in fixed deposits.
But somehow he managed and purchased me the CHETAK SCOOTER OF BAJAJ which was considered the best scooter at that time.
Now i became the proud owner of Chetak who became my partner for next 15 years of my life. Now i used to finish my sales job in half day and came back to my home very early and life became very comfortable. Now there was no need to wait for bus and later it became my family vehicle for travel. After my marriage my second elder brother got a good job in DLF gurgaon in Haryana and it was not possible to travel such a long journey daily from rohini to there so he decided to shift there. It was a very emotional moment for our family since we were living since childhood together and it was very difficult for children s of my brother. So at that time also because of my Chetak i used to go to gurgaon at my brothers new house regularly with my family so children do not miss each other for long.
