It’s very rightly said that optimism can be found anywhere
and everywhere, it’s just that you must be looking to seek this feeling of
optimism, which fills you with the thought that “nothing is impossible”.
I’m a father to 2 children, one daughter and one son. The
feeling of becoming a father is just bliss and cannot even be begun to be
explained in words. I must add here, that before my marriage, I was very much
concerned and worried about the life ahead. Naturally, one gets concerned as to
the challenges that the marriage may possess and the responsibilities that come
with it; this happens to all of us.
After 2 years of my marriage, I was blessed with a daughter
and from that day on; she’s been the optimism and the ray of hope in my life,
so has been my son. Both of my children have been very mature since a very
young age, they realized their responsibilities very early in life and this as
a father; fills me with great hope for the future. There’s no feeling like
being proud of your children, it’s something that every parent takes pride in.
As I mentioned earlier, optimism can be found everywhere in
life and I experienced this for the first time when I saw my 1 year old smiling
and looking at me. The first time that she grasped my finger and learned how to
walk, the first time that I took her out for an ice-cream which made her face
filled with happiness (as they rightly say, children’s don’t measure happiness
with money). My daughter would be ecstatic whenever she and my wife would go on
a journey of 2 hours to my brother’s home on my scooter, it’ll be fitting to
say here – that my daughter found happiness in just about what she got and she
has taught me the same, that’s the kind of optimism I’ve learned from my
children. Who says children can’t teach you! :)
The very idea of optimism is to feel a sense of positivity
inside you and realize the power of being positive and the feeling of “there’s
nothing that I can’t reach”, this is what my daughter has taught me.
My little daughter has grown up and is 24 years old now and
still continues to inspire me with her smile, with her work and with her
ability to find happiness in even the smallest of the things. My son just like
his elder sister is the same – responsible and a great source of inspiration to
me.
It’s fitting to add here that I found optimism in the
smallest of the things that my children did and this is what makes life
worthwhile. The very idea of finding hope for the future around you is the best
way to apprehend that “success is everywhere, it’s just the perception you see
it with”.
